Gov Obiano (2nd L), Nwaebili with mic, TAMAD Manager, Igwe Nanaji of Ogwu Aniocha ..during the visit |
The man
known to many as Working Willie was in Ogbaru twice in the last one week.
His first
visit was to be part of the burial of the late wife of his highly favoured top
official Chief Nzemeka Olisa ( Okosisi) at St Josephs Catholic Church Atani ,
the LGA headquarters while the second
was to reactivate work on Ogbaru roads especially the Umunankwo, Mputu
Ogwuaniocha road stalled by the extensive flooding of the River Niger.
On hand to
receive him and tour with him during the inspection of roads were his aides
from Ogbaru including SSA Agric Sir Paul Nwosu, a son in whom he is so well
pleased;TC Chairman Comrade Arinzechukwu
Awogu, former Speaker of Anambra state
House of Assembly Rt Hon Chinwe Nwaebili who is eyeing the Federal House of Representative
seat for Ogbaru Federal Constituency in the 2019 general elections.
Others were
APGA aspirant for the Anambra North senatorial seat Chief Chinedu Emeka,
aspirant for Ogbaru 2 Constituency in the Anambra state House of Assembly Hon
Franklin Nwadialor, Honorable Andy Achike, Hon Ifejika Singer, and a host of
others.
As early as
9 am on that breezy and dusty Monday morning, the Local Government secretariat
was already thronged with APGA faithful all clad in the colorful APGA uniform
to welcome their governor who arrived and went straight to the construction
site of the road being handled by TAMAD Construction Company.
In brief
remarks, Rt Hon Chinwe Nwaebili thanked
the Governor for his auspicious visit. She also pleaded that a bridge over the
troubled waters linking Ihiala and Ogwu aniocha be added into the project to ease
the pains of the people, a request the governor acceded to pronto.
Chief
Chinedu Emeka who also took the microphone was full of commendation for Gov
Obiano urging the people to give full support to APGA, a party according to him keeps its promises.
It should be
noted that before Obiano’s recent visits,
Ogbaru LGA led by Comrade Arinzechukwu Awogu had started palliative work on all rural roads most of which were devastated by the recent flooding.
The LGA also
acquired a 30 ton MACK tipper to aid the onerous task of the rehabilitation process, an activity that has seen the local works
department working in many communities including Ogwu Ikpele said to be worst
hit by the flooding.
In a memo to
ECD on the recent development, prominent Ogwu Aniocha born human rights activist
based in the United state Comrade Onyii
Esiaka wrote, “the big interest in Ogwu Aniocha
and Ogwu Ikpele and I know all the other
remote communities in Anambra state as regards roads by Governor Obiano strengthens
my belief that APGA is the only party through which Ogbaru people can get
better treatment by government.
According to
Esiaka “there will be synergy between the various organs of government namely
the Senate, the House of reps and the House of Assembly with the state Chief executive
for democratic goodies to touch down on our people”
