RACE TO FEDERAL HOUSE; WHAT OGBARU TEACHERS THINK OF ADAUGO

Rt. Hon Princess Chinwe C Nwaebili...full of grace

If there is a professional group in Ogbaru with undiluted love for Rt. Hon Princess Chinwe Nwaebili, former Speaker Anambra state House of Assembly then it is the teachers.

Nwaebili whose father Igwe Afuberoh of Ogbakuba started his life as a teacher had been worried sick about the travails of teachers in Nigeria whose benefits are said to be in heaven. She built an NUT House for them in 2015.

This edifice was commissioned by Chief Mrs Ebele Obiano wife of Anambra state governor in an elaborate ceremony leaving the teachers in unending praise and gratitude.

This is one of the reasons members of the noble profession in Ogbaru have mobilized and are still doing so to reward her with their votes in the coming elections where she is contesting to represent Ogbaru at the Federal House of Reps.

ECD reporters traversed Ogbaru to fish out the leaders of the teachers and sounded them out on what they think of Adaugo and why they are mobilizing for her in the race to the Federal House.

MR FELIX ONUORAH (Ogbaru NUT Chairman Emeritu)

Ogbaru LGA is the only local government area with a Teachers’ House in the whole of Anambra state and you can quote me on that. This was only made possible because Rt. Hon Princess Chinwe Nwaebili cares. She built and furnished this bungalow and has given us our pride of place.  Before then, Teachers in Ogbaru did not have a place of meeting. We were operating in makeshift apartments where we received a lot of insults.”

The Ossomala born erudite teacher said that since he started teaching in Ogbaru, no other individual either in public or private sector has shown the kind of love Princess Nwaebili has shown to teachers.

HON. DR. MIKE NZOWU(Current NUT Chairman Ogbaru)

Members of the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT) Ogbaru have many friends but Rt. Hon Chinwe Nwaebili is our special friend. We announced this to the world when we called her out for honors recently. She remembered teachers and gave us hope that our rewards will be right here on earth and not in heaven as is often said.

The Akili Ogidi born professional teacher with teaching experience across the Anambra state  also disclosed that “only a human being with a large heart will acquire a land and build a hall with many offices, install a borehole to provide water and hand it over to another. Adaugo Nwaebili is indeed a humane, loving and caring mother of all. I pray God continues to bless her for what he has done for teachers and other indigent members of our society.

COMRADE NGOZI UCHENDU, (Ogbaru NUT Secretary)
Princess Chinwe Nwaebili did what Napoleon could not do by building a secretariat for teachers in Ogbaru. This singular act solved the big problem of accommodation for teachers in the area. There is no teachers’ house anywhere in all the 21 LGAs of Anambra state except in Ogbaru so it is first of its kind.

Speaking further, Comrade Uchendu, resident of Iyiowa, Odekpe Ogbaru and mathematics teacher at Unity Comprehensive High School Okpoko, Ogbaru said “if she could do this when she had no federal might, I assume she would do more if she goes higher. Very few women have attained the height she attained in public service.  An English man had said that human beings should do things worth talking about if they do not want to be forgotten.

I can tell you that no teacher will forget Adaugo in Ogbaru because of what she has done for us. Voting for her in February is a payback because one good turn deserves another with all the multiplier effects that go with it. In real fact in our own Guinness book of records her name is already written in gold. This is why we honored her with the award of Ogbaru Teachers’ special friend on November 14, 2018.
