On Sunday 16th
of December 2018 all roads led to the Obi Ndigbo (Igbo Palace) in Ejigbo, a suburb
in Lagos on the invitation of Eze Alex Sunday Nwoye, Eze Ndigbo of Ejigbo.
Guests came from all over Lagos to be part
of the end of year party for Ohaneze and Igbo community in general in the area hosted
by Eze Nwoye himself who is also Bobaselu of Ejigbo.
But it later
turned into a huge carnival of cultures featuring costume competition by Ndi Eze
Ndigbos who graced the occasion in diverse colorful attires, members of the
Oba of Ejigbo Council of Chiefs who all
jammed with blue agbada as well as other culture minded Nigerians who have not
stopped commending the organizer saying the event was talk of town.

Eze C. U Nwachukwu of Isolo, Eze Pat Ene
of Ojo, Eze Tony Anosike of Onigbongbo, Eze
John Nwosu of Mushin, Eze Goddy Ogidi of Amuwo Odofin, Eze Atuzie, Eze Martins
Okoro (Otun Bobaselu) and a host of others.

While some
of the members of Ejigbo Council of chiefs who were present included Akeweje
Taiye Bello, Chief Alimi Akogun, Chief Soludero
Ndudim, Chief Okanlomo, Otun Bobaselu, Sobaloju and a host of others.

The highly
respected Oba was conspicuously absent due to a sudden monarchical engagement.
Also on hand were members of the Igbo Council of Chiefs in Ejigbo led by Chief Odinaka Iwu (Onowu)
Speaking to
ECD concerning the event and why he put it together, Onyendu Ndigbo of Ejigbo
Lagos Eze Alex Nwoye who was simply dressed
in a red Isi agu top upon a white trousers disclosed that it was conceived to bring all ethnic groups together
especially members of the Igbo community under one roof with their yoruba counterparts in order to make merry and thank God for a wonderful year and pray for a more prosperous
2019.

According to
him ”I reasoned that if my yearly end of year party for members of the Igbo
community in Ejigbo is spiced up by the presence of members of the Yoruba community and other ethnic nationalities in
Ejigbo, it sure will reunite and patch up areas of strain in the relationship
that we share in the community. I trust that it has gone a long way to improve
our bonding with one another“
Eze John Nwosu who arrived in a dramatic manner
with his enigmatic chaperon chipped in ; “this is a wonderful gathering and I
am very happy to be here present and not be told”

the event is celebrated annually adding that he was impressed with the turn out
of Nigerians.
