Edo people scattered all over Europe have been celebrating the recent victory of Governor Godwin Obaseki of PDP over his APC challenger Pastor Osagie Ize Iyamu in the September 19 governorship election.
From the streets of Frankfurt, Berlin, Hamburg Germany through to Antwerp Belgium, Paris France, Helsinki Finland, Edo diaspora fans of Godwin Obaseki who hooked themselves up on satellite television to monitor events which they vigorously campaigned are in celebration mood.
International show promoter Isaac izoya who just lost his dear father used his many platforms to campaign vigorously and see Obaseki victory as respite to bear his loss and said ' I thank God for this winning of light over evil. Edo is not Lagos where impunity reigns supreme.'
Also speaking Austin Ediale in Helsinki said ' I can now go to sleep now that Edo is still in safe hands'.
In Paris France, Alele Joy Ovenseri told ECD that the lack of violence as predicted by doomsday prophets makes her heart gladden. In her words, Alele said " I thank God that there are no reports of violence during and after the election"
The story is same in London, UK where the stakeholders appealed to the govt of UK to prevail on Nigeria for a free and fair poll, the celebration is ongoing as plans are in place for an elaborate celebrations
