PATHETIC; ONYINYE OSADEBE…HIS FINAL MOMENTS *THE TOUCHING TRIBUTE BY ONE OF HIS CLOSEST FRIENDS

Late Chief Onyinye Osadebe
The world is still in shock over the death of Onyinye Osadebe, a son of late highlife music Lord Chief Stephen Osita Osadebe

Onyinye was a popular musician with several CDs and albums to show. His stage craft was legendary as fans rekindled interest in his all achieving father through his voice and act; reason he was called afunwa elota nna. Translated to; a person whom you see and remember the father with many striking resemblances.
Little Onyinye with late Osita Osadebe
The graduate of Applied Microbiology and Brewing from Enugu state university
died in the afternoon of Tuesday 26th of March 2019 throwing his immediate family and friends and the world of entertainment into mourning especially when the family also lost another son during the last over- flooding of the River Niger.

It was a solemn post by Ugboma Chinonso Hillary with a burning candle on a black canvas that rattled members of Ogbaru Political Summit, a popular watsapp group at 9.20 pm on that Tuesday. Many did not even know he was ill. Those who knew about his brief but not yet announced ailment never thought it would take his life.

His post;

“Really do not know how to say this but must acknowledge that it is a “Black Tuesday” for most of us
Adieu my brother my friend,  Chief Onyinye Benjamin Osadebe ( Afunwa Elota Nna)

As members of the forum were coming to terms with the sad news, the highly prolific and prodigious Ugboma went further to fire this soulful tribute to a dear friend. It also throws more light into the final moments. He posted it at 10pm about forty minutes after his first salvo. I consider it a classic.

Onyinye...Live on stage
ONYII,
You fought so hard to survive this. You were optimistic till on Sunday.
It was not about finances,  It was not about payers, It was not about friends and relatives. These were all there for you.
Yet the cruel hands of death never allowed you conquer this.
You remain a hero even until your death this afternoon.
I met you breathing though speechless.

But you wanted to whisper something to Obinwa your beloved sister.
Unfortunately the hands of death have seized your speech organ that you could not utter that important final word.
That was the worst 5 minutes that I imagined. You left us but I know you are seeing us from there.

I know you are not happy leaving now but the grace to choose eluded you.
We are all mourning hoping it is not true.
Unfortunately it is true because I witnessed it

Your dreams… who will live it?
Who will cuddle Obinwa?
I have many questions but are you going to answer it?

Au revoir nwokem……By Ugboma Chinonso Hillary
