Adekunle Adisa Ojoola, Oba of
Ejigbo and Ijan Land marked 20 years on the throne of his ancestors with a
weeklong celebrations beginning from Saturday 28th July to Sunday
5th of August, 2018.
He spoke on the remarkably positive things that has happened
during his reign as Oba of Ejigbo since 1998.
“I am grateful to God
for giving me this rare privilege to lead this town and for making my reign so
peaceful; Permit me to say that it has been God all the way. The last 20 years
of my life on this throne is only the grace and mercy of my God
“Ejigbo has seen remarkable progress and development
socially and economically with amazing infrastructure. Permit me to highlight
some of these remarkable developments.
“The Oba Moroof Ojoola International market has seen
remarkable expansion with more stalls thereby accommodating more traders.
“The creation of Ejigbo Local Council Development Area is a
great achievement to me as Oba of Ejigbo. I can’t forget those that helped in
making this a reality, the former Governor of the state Asiwaju Bola Ahmed
Tinubu, immediate past state Chairman of our great party Chief Henry Ajomale,
the Governor of Osun state Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola and Hon Owokoniran to mention
a few.
"The establishment of Ejigbo Magistrate court is also another
landmark achievement while bringing Ejigbo Divisional Police station to my town
has drastically reduced the level of crime.
“Commercial activities have improved as all major Nigerian
banks are now situated in my town. Also there has been a huge improvement in
our recreational facilities as there are more hotels, relaxation spots,
schools, event centers and eateries.
He did not end without saying how he has used his exalted "position as the Oba of Ejigbo
to make indigenes and non indigenes to
live together in peace and harmony; the Igbo and Hausa communities have really been so wonderful as they always
embrace peaceful coexistence. We have seen great atmosphere of mutual respect
and love in this town as expressed in business interactions and inter tribal
marriages on a daily basis”.
