Love for beauty
pageantry
Bianca’s interest in beauty pageantry started very early in her
life yet several of her childhood friends say she has always been a shy kid.. According to them, it is her extreme good looks and carriage and comportment that usually singles her
out to take what many think is hers. As a student of St Andrews Cambridge, she
won the Miss Martini, a college pageant.
Her interest did not end there as she enrolled for the Most
Beautiful Girl in Nigeria pageant and was in December 1988, crowned Nigeria’s
most beautiful girl at a big ceremony held at the National Theatre, Lagos.
Bianca went on to win Miss Africa, hosted in Banjul, Gambia and
the prestigious Miss Intercontinental Pageant hosted in Lagos in 1989. She also
flew Nigeria’s flag at the Miss World held in Hong Kong same year as well as
Miss Universe held in Cancun, Mexico.
Aside this, she was named Miss Congeniality at the now defunct
Miss Charm International which held in Russia. She got to the semi-final stage.

It was after her crowning as Miss Intercontinental and Most

became the main controversy of the early 90s period as every newspaper,
magazine or radio and television carried Ojukwu and Bianca..their story and
love escapades. She was urged to give up her crown as MBGN and Miss
Intercontinental by the organizers who felt it was scandalous to their brand.

Her politics
Bianca Ojukwu is a member of the Board of Trustees of All
Progressives Grand Alliance APGA, the party her late husband formed and noted
to have played a big role in the re election of Governor Willie Obiano of
Anambra state. It is on record how she joined forces with APGA hierarchy to
travel round the state to ensure APGA victory during that election
