Chen
Two Chinese men doing business in Nigeria took time out to discuss the pains and gains of this engagement,
At a forum organized by China Council for promotion of International Trade Guangdong Committee (CCPIT Guangdong) Michael Chen and Amani Xu summarized that it is very interesting doing business in Nigeria adding that many Chinese companies are doing well while a lot others are grappling with understanding of the business climate.
Michael Chen is relationship manager of Across Africa China Company while Amani  Xu is of CRW Bathrooms with factory in Abuja, Nigeria.
According to Chen, “we have been in business in Nigeria in the past fourteen years but the Nigerian government soon raised costs of duties or out rightly banned importation of tiles and marbles one of the main resources we import. This action has done enough damage to our business. We are back thinking which other products to get involved in and this is not good”
Amani
Chen said China and indeed his company needs the Nigeria’s support to return to business. He did not mince words while talking about debtors in the business who delay payment for goods supplied.

In his own explanation, Amani Xu, sales manager of CRW Bathrooms said “there needs to be a better synergy between policies and government officials who implement them. We want stability in the relationship between government and investors specially foreigners”. He quickly added that his company needs help in the area of the promotion of their business.
