Front-line Nollywood Filmmaker, Activist Madu Chikwendu has announced the commencement of his stop talking, start doing campaign in Lagos recently
History was made when on November 6 2018 the former president of Association of Movie producers AMP authorised a press release to that effect adding that he is seeking over 4 million young Nigerians before February 2019
The well circulated press release signed by Olamide Yusuf explains that the new initiative is a Community Based Organization that adopts a ‘bottoms up’ approach to the issue of corruption and governance.
"STOP aims to sensitize the middle class about their leadership role in the direction and the future of the country. This begins with the 2019 General elections.
According to  Chikwendu :”Stop talking start doing is a peaceful revolution. We are simply saying that it is no longer enough to tell us what we all know. Even a baby in the womb knows that Nigeria is corrupt and dysfunctional. What we want to know is what YOU are doing about it.
”The future of this country can no longer be reduced to Armchair football .Since most people are not able to give us a satisfactory answer , STOP is telling you what we think you should do about it. First we want you to STOP talking and start DOING. So long as you refuse to engage in the political process, your apathy makes it easier for corrupt and incompetent people to get into office. STOP is preaching Participatory Democracy. We are going beyond PVC’s and voting to say that as long as you are educated and enlightened you can influence the youths and the women who comprise the majority of voters.
STOP is targeting a BOOTH Army of at least twenty youths per polling booth in the 120,000 polling booths in the country.in effect STOP targets a membership of not less than four million youths by February 2019.
