Families of kidnapped victims beseige chimkasimma services

Family members of kidnapped victims of Abuja bound Chimkasimma services bus  stormed the Enugu terminal of the company to hear the real story of how it happened.

A fully loaded Sienna bus had taken off from Enugu terminal of the company yesterday only for news of the kidnapping to start circulating early evening.

ECD reporter who was at the scene said parents of a passenger said to be a female pharmacist were early callers at the terminal where the transport company was booking today's travelers.

Eye witnesses say the distraught family of the pharmacist  created a big scene at the terminal blocking the entrance with many cars and trucks and preventing vehicles from loading.

Narrating how the news of the kidnapping reached the family, mother of the pharmacist said her daughter departed yesterday morning from Enugu to abuja.

She said she was on phone with her daughter until about 3 pm when she was not picking any calls.

Continuing she said "it was when a voice which said he was an officer of the police force announcing the kidnap that all hell was let lose.

No one has slept a wink since yesterday when the news broke.

Also speaking,  an uncle of the kidnapped pharmacist a former member of the federal House reps,  Hon USA Igwesi wondered why the company should open their offices when there was a serious issue on ground.

According to him, "the company did not call anyone of the victims families despite that there's a manifest

Rather the company banged the phone on us for daring to ask questions. It is not morally right for chimkasimma services to open their office to load passengers when there's an issue on ground. In more saner countries, an incident office should have been opened by now to give information to victims families but not in Nigeria where anything goes. The company even has effrontery to load passengers this morning. We have every right to conclude that the company is working in tandem with kidnappers. To make the matters worse, a voice call to the MD was banged on us. And he is even on the run.

ECD also gathered that  a Reverend, a Reverend  sister as well as a US bound passenger were in the bus when kidnappers struck around Kogi state demanding N50m for each of the passengers.
