NONSO NWAEBILI FOUNDATION LAUNCHES RRR INITIATIVE FOR PRISON INMATES

Members of Nonso Nwaebili Foundation at Onitsha Correctional centre

Board members of Nonso Nwaebili Foundation (NNF) in partnership with Di-Street Chambers Law and Consultancy yesterday gathered at the Onitsha Correctional Center for the.official launch of its Release, Rehabilitate and Reintegrate (RRR) programme for prison inmates in Nigeria.

The RRR programme is said to be an ambitious and compassionate programme aimed at the release, rehabilitation and reintegration of prison inmates into the society.

The launch event which attracted stakeholders of the law, civil societies and faith based and religious organisations across the country started at the NNF secretariate, Odekpe, Anambra state culminating at the Onitsha Correctional Center where processes towards release of 10 inmates were initiated.

The NNF RRR programm launch event was punctuated by passionate speeches, heartfelt testimonies and a renewed call for social responsibility.

Founder of NNF, Prince Barrister Nonso Henry Nwaebili in an emotionally charged speech while engaging with the prisoners at the Onitsha  Correctional center, described the RRR initiative as a mission borne out of his deep Catholic upbringing and conviction  which gives hope to prisoners not only as corporal work of mercy but a spiritual duty that touches the very soul of humanity.

The British trained lawyer son of former speaker of  Anambra House of Assembly and current senior legislative aide to Speaker House of Reps linked the initiative to Goal No. 16 of the UN Sustainable Development Goals which promotes peace, justice and strong institutions.

"Every human being deserves a second chance" he declares.

" I have travelled across continents as a student of law and I have seen first-hand the tragedies of wrongful incarceration and neglect. But it was on my birthday — 31st May 2025 — during a visit to Onitsha Correctional Centre, that this vision was born in fire and compassion. I was passionately moved when I met an inmate whose story, though I cannot disclose, changed my entire perspective. He deserved another chance… many of them do,”

NNF members at the launch of RRR programme

Nwaebili also praised the example set by Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, whose own visit to the same correctional centre to mark his 65th birthday helped galvanize his resolve.

He said the RRR Program is structured to identify, reform, and support inmates willing to become ambassadors against crime under the general coordination of Rev. Chidi Aneke.

The program has already begun talks with reputable corporate organisations in Nigeria and Anambra state for enablement.

The plan is simple: Identify inmates who are ready to change,

support their release through legal advocacy and social pressure, rehabilitate them via intensive mentorship and values-based training and reintegrate them into society by connecting them with skill acquisition centers and eventual job placements.

The Law Firm — Di-Street Chambers — will provide legal support, monitoring, and reintegration follow-up, while the Foundation ensures continuous mentorship and life coaching.

Hon. Nonso Nwaebili Esq

While calling on philanthropists, faith-based institutions, and socially conscious citizens, Hon. Nwaebili emphasized:

"This is not just a program. It is a movement that will change lives, reduce crime, and restore dignity. We cannot continue to allow our young people to waste behind bars, abandoned by society. Now is the time to act."

This launch is not just an event, it is a call to action; a call to bring back hope where hopelessness has taken root. A call to heal the broken, restore the forgotten, and redeem the lost.

The Nonso Nwaebili Foundation and Di-Street Chambers have sounded the alarm — and the time for justice with compassion is now.

BROTHERS AT WAR OVER CHAIRMANSHIP POSITION

BROTHERS AT WAR OVER CHAIRMANSHIP POSITION

Hon Tajudeen Sulaimon  is elder brother to Hon Ganiu Sulaimon from same father and same womb.

However today, they are in a big fight over who becomes Ejigbo Local Council chairman.

Both are currently tugged in war because of a mere political seat of power.

As you read this, Hon Tajudeen and his brother are undergoing a shadow primary election to decide who flies APC  flag when Lagos LGA elections come in July.

Many think Hon Ganiu should have stepped down for his elder brother who had been Speaker of Ejigbo Councillors before to upgrade .

But Ganiu, known to many as Idera will take non of that urging his elder brother to also make the move and step down for him.

Many also think that they could forge a more formidable front together but that is not likely because  politics is war.

*As Mandate movement conduct shadow primaries

Hon Daniel Olusegun Oduse

Indications are that Hon Daniel Olusegun  Oduse, one of the major contenders for Ejigbo Local Council Development Area chairmanship election may clinch the shadow Primaries  which began today 12 April 2025 at Mandate Movement secretariat at Ona Iwa mimo Street Ejigbo, Lagos Nigeria.

Oduse is among the multitude of contenders for the highly coveted seat to be vacated by Hon Monsuru Obe.

He has campaigned vigorously across the community just as many have taken note of his philanthropy and benovelence across board.

Shadow primaries is a a set up to prune down the numerous contenders in an election to the best possible best.

Oduse on the march

The major caucuses namely Mandate, Justice and Mega groups present aspiring candidates.

To many Oduse, an EU trained sports development management expert  is the man to beat.

He is said to be well exposed to leadership from several institutions in Europe.

As we await the result of the Mandate Movement  screening,  watch out

LAGOS COUNCIL ELECTION; TENSION AS MANDATE GROUP HOLDS SHADOW PRIMARIES

LAGOS COUNCIL ELECTION;

TENSION IN EJIGBO OVER SHADOW PRIMARIES

By Bamidele Alao, Editor

Hon Kehinde Bamigbetan
 (leader Mandate movement)

About now today April 12, 2025, members of the Mandate movement , unarguably one of the most popular political caucus groups in Ejigbo are gathering in their numbers at the Ejigbo home of its leader Hon Kehinde Bamigbetan to decide who 'goes to war' for them during the forth coming Lagos Council elections.

Bamigbetan who was former Chairman Ejigbo LCDA and now SA to Minister of Mines and solid minerals set up the group before his victory as LCDA Chairman and have continued to keep it up to speed in Ejigbo political equation.

Already tension is brewing as the many aspirants including the many LG chairman hopefuls as well as Councillors jostle to win in a plot that plans to prune down the number and get a most popular aspirant.

News reaching ECD say former  Supervisor who later was appointed to be Sole Administrator of Oshodi  Isolo LGA Hon Taoheed Adevayo Taiwo may have jettisoned the idea with apparent allegation that the committee is skewed against him.

Hon Taoheed Adebayo Taiwo ..is he out of the race.

Again one of the nominees into the committee Hon Tanigbola said to be aligned to Hon Taiwo may also have thrown in the towel.

Contestants for Chairmanship position are to pay five hundred  thousand naira while councillors pay two hundred thousand naira to participate.

According to the programme sighted by ECD repoters, the secretariat of the panel starts sitting today while from Monday 15, the actual screening will set in motion.

It is expected that Mandate group shadow primaries screening committe led by Engr Gbenga Fayomi would have reached a conclusion on their best candidates.

The Mandate movement shadow primaries in Ejigbo LCDA is taken so seriously because any one who emerges winner as chairmanship or councillors seems already blessed to coast home to victory.

Watch out for blow by blow account of how the matter goes down.

Entertainment;

I MADE ONLY N17K FROM DADDY MOO...SAYS OLLIE GEE

Ollie Gee...nwaguy

Watching or listening to Daddy Moo crooner Ollie Gee performing several of his songs including felenfe, Emesia, and the latest Oguzoro makes one think  he smiled to the bank after the Daddy moo sensation. Not correct.

ECD can reveal that only the sum of N17,000 went to him from his record label for that monstrous hit album.

In a recent chat with popular podcaster Oga Nepa, Enugu state born Ollie Gee who inherited the gift of music compositions from his father revealed that the only money that accrued to him from the record label for Daddy Moo and felenfe was "just seventeen thousand naira which came in tranches of N1000 today, N2000 tomorrow N5000 next until I counted 17k and that's all"

Ollie Gee nwaguy also spoke on his relationship with Flavour, Kcee and other notable Nigerian pop musicians spreading positive vibes all the way.
