A middle
aged woman (names withheld) has been arrested in connection with the killing of
her husband.
The incident
happened on Adewunmi street Ejigbo sometime before Christmas.
According to
neighbours, the couple and their only daughter lived in one of the apartments
in the building.
They also
narrate how the couple was always fighting and quarreling.
ECD gathered
that on the night of the incident which later took the life of the man, there
was an altercation which led to the woman, said to be a factory worker using a
plank to deal a fatal blow on the man’s head.
According to
a neighbour, there was a quarrel the night before which the neighbours took as
another of their regular fights and did not bother to intrude.
Said the neighbour, “the woman had hit him on the head and allowed him to bleed for several
hours in coma.
It was at
daybreak that the poor man recovered
from unconsciousness and came out from the apartment fully bruised that
neighbours saw blood stains on the back of his head and neck with his shirt
bloodied. He confessed to them how his wife had hit him with a plank at night.
Having lost
so much blood, he soon collapsed and was declared dead on arrival at the
hospital that morning.
