THOSE WHO WANT CHUCHU ONYEMA’S JOB

Hon Prince Chukwuka Wilfred Onyema

Opposition seems to be thickening against the third term agenda of Hon Prince Chukwuka Onyema of the PDP, currently the member representing Ogbaru in the Federal House of representative.

Onyema who is serving a second term is being vehemently opposed by several APGA members apparently enamored by the latest victory of APGA with the re election of Governor Willie Obiano and the seeming disarray of PDP in Anambra.

A trip through Ogbaru show a people whose main preoccupation is to move Onyema, a Prince of Ogwu Ikpele and a graduate of Economics from University of Benin from the House of reps

ECD learnt that most of these opposing forces against Onyema’s return are APGA and include Atani born grassroots politician and schemer Hon Arinzechukwu Awogu, an Obiano trusted aide who is very popular within the entire Ogbaru LGA and is highly favoured according to pundits.

He has served as Senior Special Assistant to Governor Obiano and is acclaimed to have contributed immensely to the growth of APGA in Ogbaru in particular and in the state in general.

Another person who does not want Hon Onyema to return to the green chambers is Hon Chinwe Nwaebili, former Speaker of Anambra state House of Assembly.

Nwaebili served as speaker and then as Commissioner for Environment. She hopes to use a combination of her links with her people of her birthplace of Ogbakuba and her marital home of Odekpe to unseat Onyema come 2019. One of her aides say she will unfold in piece meal fashion.

There is also news from Okpoko chapter of the PDP plotting to raise a champion from the area to checkmate Onyema.

Posters of some of these candidates are already flying around in the communities as well as on social media while some of the potential  candidates are saying they are yet thinking about the calls of the people to rescue the constituency from what someone called “poor representation”

Hon Chukwuka Onyema represented Ogbaru Federal Constituency from 2007 to 2011. His attempt to return was truncated by who journalist Victor Afam Ogene unseated him.

Ogene lost the opportunity to return in 2015 when Onyema joined forces with Senator Stella Oduah riding on the back of then huge popularity of former President Jonathan and the PDP might which gave all to PDP.

Now with the sudden polarization of the PDP, Onyema may be swimming in an ocean full of shacks.
