Worldwide jubilations have trailed the recent election of Femi Awoniyi, erudite brain behind African Courier, the very celebrated newsmagazine published in Germany as President of NIDO Germany chapter.
Congratulatory messages have continued to follow as fans from Speyer, Heidelberg, Mannheim, Berlin and Hamburg as well as other parts of Germany express their joy and happiness on his election.
Messages also reaching from many parts of Africa, Europe and North America say NIDO Germany has made the right choice.
With many years of experience traversing and reporting Africa and the world at large in Germany, Awoniyi is seen as a charismatic link to all connections required for progress by NIDO Germany and was elected unopposed to serve a two years term.
No wonder he quickly took to the facebook wall to express himself on his
election
According
to him, “It's with deep gratitude and humility that I announce my
election as the President of the Nigerians in Diaspora Organisation (NIDO)
Germany.
“I was elected unopposed by members of the Organisation for a
2-year term at its Annual General Meeting on Saturday, 26 June 2021.
It's with utmost sense of responsibility that I assume the
representation of a 72,000-strong community in the global Nigerian Diaspora.
I thank members of NIDO Germany for their trust in my
leadership.
I pay tributes to our compatriots – gallant leaders and
dedicated members, who have committed their time, their talent and their
financial and other resources to the pursuit of a vibrant organised Nigerian
diaspora in Germany and globally.
NIDO was conceived to promote the welfare of the Nigerian
diaspora as well as an agency for Nigerian development.
I believe in the great potential of the organisation and
dedicate myself to playing an active role towards making it fulfil the
potential.
God bless you all.
On the many messages reaching him, Awoniyi writes “Dear Friends,
I hereby express my profound gratitude for ALL your kind wishes
and warm words of felicitation and encouragement.
Thank you so much! God bless you all.
