LAGOS COUNCIL POLL; NO CHALLENGER FOR OBE, OTHER PARTIES IN DISARRAY
By Our Reporters
As the 2021 Lagos Local Council election inches closer, indications are that incumbent Chairman of Ejigbo LCDA Hon Monsuru Oloyede Obe is set to clinch another four year’s tenure.
This is because there does not
seem to be any other challenger in sight.
A Lagos Council poll survey organised
by Ejigbo City Diary (ECD) across the entire LCDA reveal that most of other
parties seem in disarray without visible presence as compared with what
obtained in the past when the PDP paraded vibrant contestants like Ibrahim Adefenwa, Rev
Ojo, Akinlusi FCA or when Hon. Sanjo, APGA PRO would move to release his party's election work plan.

Today they all seem to have been thrown far apart by the non stop political machinations of the All Progressives Congress APC and Obe which continues to attract more followership daily singing the Obe ni joooo, Obe lekansi songs.
During the tour of the wards, we
found out what makes Obe the man to beat in Ejigbo council election and how he is
contesting against himself so to speak.
Obe is being acclaimed for the equitable distribution of council resources, the so called democracy dividends including
in education, health and infrastructural development across the wards in the
last four years.
Again he is also being commended
for ‘carrying along’ Ejigbo indigenous people as well as the various tribal
groups in his locality making room for their endorsement of his administration
and willingness to vote him a second time come July 24, 2021.
Thirdly, he is also being hailed
for propelling a formidable willing and cooperative team of councillors and
officials whose unity of purpose has benefited his administration immensely.
This has earned him much needed
endorsement from the Igbo, Arewa, South South and a host of other ethnic and socio political groups.
Yet his Monsurudeen Oloyede campaign organisation (MOCO)has not stopped touring the community
Come Saturday July 3, 2021, members
of the South South Peoples forum Ejigbo will throng Ejigbo LCDA headquarters to join the numerous ethnic groups that have thrown in their support for
the return of Obe.
Says Hon Anene Enebeli, a top
member of the South South Peoples Forum, Ejigbo chapter “We want to gather on
tha day to tell the world that Obe has done well; we want him to return to the
Ejigbo Tiger House. That’s our prayer”
Obe with his team of councillors won
the Lagos APC primaries conducted across the 57 councils ( 20 LGA s and 37
LCDAs)on Saturday, May 29.
