Stockfish festival begin in Lagos

Lovers and eaters of stockfish are currently making their way to the Landmark Events Center Oniru, VI Lagos venue for the Norwegian Seafood Festival with stockfish playing a prominent role.

Also stockfish chefs across Nigeria are not left out because there is a competition to find the best stockfish recipe at the one day event which started at 10 am today 19 october 2019..

The event is seen as the biggest and first ever Norwegian seafood festival in recent times in Nigeria known to be one of the biggest markets of Norwegian Stockfish in the world,

The show is organized by the Norwegian Seafood Council to pay tribute to a long standing tradition of export of stockfish to Nigeria aside from encouraging friendship between Norway and Nigeria.

Expected are members of the diplomats corps, exporters of seafood from Norway as well as experts in international culinary services.

Highlights include a prize giving moment for the best stockfish recipe from the competition to select the best stockfish chef in Nigeria.

MUSIC IS WEAPON TO DRUM UP SUPPORT FOR PEACEFUL ELECTIONS IN NIGERIA…US CONSUL GENERAL

Lagos––The United States Consulate General, Lagos in collaboration with U-Live Africa on recently presented Major Lazer Sound System Concert in Nigeria.
The very popular US band did not just come to jam at the Hard Rock Beach on Victoria Island, Lagos with enthusiastic audience enjoying the show. They had also come to deliver a strong message on peaceful elections in Nigeria as Nigeria prepares for General elections in 2019.
Major Lazer, the American electronic dance music group, comprising Diplo, Jillionaire, and Walshy Fire, were in Nigeria as part of a broader Africa tour which has taken them to South Africa, Malawi, Kenya and Uganda.
Speaking after a series of performances which included top Nigerian Disc jockeys, the United States Consul General F. John Bray told excited music lovers that “Tonight we are all here for Major Lazer. Music is the weapon, peace is the mission. As the 2019 general election draws close, I encourage you all to make a commitment to a non-violent and peaceful democratic process,” Consul General Bray who was accompanied on stage by leading Nigerian artistes ––Sound Sultan and Korede Bello –– remarked just before Major Lazer began their performance.
Fans who attended the show say it is unforgettable to see the electronic dance music trio thrill the audience with a blend of local and international tunes including some of the songs featuring top Nigerian artistes namely;Tied Up featuring Mr. Eazi; Loyal featuring Kizz Daniel and All My Life featuring Burna Boy.    .
